Bhavnagar city, primarily a business town, is the gateway town to Alang. Alang is the biggest ship breaking yard in South Asia. This port city of India is situated on the coastal region of Saurashtra peninsula adjacent to the picturesque Gulf of Cambay.

Bhavnagar is well connected to Mumbai through regular flights. However, there are no direct international flights to and from the city.
